Official 3 axle truck motor units!

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
Great news! That will open up some more posibilities.
Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
Whoot! Can't wait to buy one! Or...I mean two!
Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
Who's going to start the list of locos that can be modelled once this hits the shelves???

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
I would love an E8 train. It looks like a perfect chance for Jesse to make a version of a "longer" from his standard F3 unit.
Or I could wait till these are released and I'll go and grab one to get the dimensions.
Also, I hope they would release 3-axis trucks/bogie for a "dummy" version.

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
If you compare the pic with one with standard 2-axle bogies, the chassis itself appears identical, and the bogie pivot appears to be off-centre between the first and second axles. So (conjecture here) it looks like the new bogies are simple drop-in replacements for the 2-axle type. Well, as easy as it ever is with those pesky springs!
Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
I agree with your thoughts, Martin.
We''ll need to wait to see if the bogies come ready attached to a power unit...or whether they are made available as a retro upgrade to any existing unit. Or perhaps both.....

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
does look like it's a standard chassis unit with new bogies added on... can't quite decide if it's a 19m or 21m unit...
so with a bit of luck they'll be available as spares to upgrade existing chassis... return of the twangy spring game...

You mean like this? I made this last year some time..http://www.shapeways.com/model/292793/e ... erialId=61
Not sure how it will fit on the new chassis, but looks promising!

Yes jesse! Yes! I'll wait till you get one of those 3 Axle engine to make changes or it might be good as is!

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
Hi Gang,
saw this at the Warley show last weekend along with a Virgin livery HST set .
chassis allows for class 37, 47,50,56,59,66 approx not sure if bogies change but look like they should.
A very promising new product. On show were some sloping end freight vehicles that with just a lick of filler to block in body side frames would make a good looking hopper wagon as used by Freightliner or GBRF , perhaps not long enough for HHA by DBS but it would still look the part..
hopefully this will generate a leap in interest and modelling in T , Bring it on !!
regards all
Robert

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
All very encouraging.
Wagons like these are just what we need to model long unit trains of identical wagons, which is surely where a scale like T can excel. Not sure what the pulling power of the locos is like currently, but I guess we will find out when people start trying to operate long trains!
Hopefully these will not be too long before we can buy them. I have some designs for rolling stock (currently US, but with British also in developement) but as my progress is leisurely to say the least it would be a lot easier to buy r-t-r to fill the long layout that I have planned.

Re: Official 3 axle truck motor units!
Hi gang,
Any update on these chassis units? I was hoping to do a EWS 66 and a VT HST, mind you a cross country one would be better!
cheers
