And don't forget to give the track a good vacuum after you spend any length of time cleaning the rail. You're likely to dislodge all sorts of things rubbing your giant sized mits over such delicate scenery!!

Re the HST....you'll get to know what combination of consists run better together once you get some running under your belt. I've found that one of my carriages doesn't like being next to the buffet car when the first class end is leading...it has a tendency to derail over points. Put it elsewhere....and all's okay!

It must be the same issue that Martin has mentioned.....probably something to do with combinations of couplers.

Have just given a length of the track a good going over with 2000 grit followed by surgical alcohol and it has worked a treat so tomorrow it all gets a damned good abrading and beating with a tree branch in Basil Fawlty style!

Oh and i gave the wheels a clean as best i could but only one pair per loco get the full treatment don't they ?
